A review of Grandia 2 has been publsihed at Gamers Press. A rating of 8/10 can be considered quite positive, and so is the tone of the review. This is theri conclusion:
Bitch time! We love this segment. Grandia II, other than the cookie-cutter plot, does have some other problems. I mentioned the performance on my computer, and as its a Pentium III 800 with a Geforce 2 card, I can't imagine what the strange slowdown with system performance was sometimes. It didn't hurt battles - those were perfectly smooth, but as I wandered about the world, sometimes it felt like things were a little slow.

Otherwise, the greatest beef I have with Grandia II is the camera system. Normally, it sits right over your head, and you can rotate it around to get a better view of your surroundings. But for as large as the world of Grandia II is, the camera seems to be deeply in love with the back of your head, zooming in so you can't see to far around you. It's not as bad as some other games, but it makes navigating the world more difficult when it should be.
