Content Designer Position @ Iron Lore

Iron Lore dropped us a line to say they have an opening for a Content Designer for an as-yet unannounced Action-RPG. Iron Lore was co-founded by Brian Sullivan, one of the creators of 'Age of Empires' from Ensemble Studios. Here's the details:
Iron Lore Entertainment is looking for talented individuals with the skill and imagination to create epic and immersive game worlds. We have set the bar incredibly high for the quality and detail of our game environments, and we have built the most powerful and easy to use level editor in the industry in order to create them.

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable knowledge of game design, a passion for their work, and an eye for artistic detail. Interested people should send the requested information to jobs@ironlore.com .

Duties:
  • Learn our powerful and intuitive but artistically demanding proprietary world editor
  • Design and create game levels according to story specifications and gameplay needs
  • Work with Q/A lead to test levels to for bugs, game balance, and fun
  • Help define level art requirements
  • Requirements:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Cooperate with others on shared projects
  • An eye for detail and a strong sense of aesthetics
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated and self-managed
  • Passion for gaming
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience playing RPGs
  • Pluses
  • Game industry experience in a design position
  • Experience playing games competitively
  • Knowledge of ancient history
  • Please Include the Following:
  • Resume and Cover Letter
  • One-page written analysis of Diablo II or Dungeon Siege discussing what you felt was done well, what was done poorly, and how you would improve the game.
  • In addition, it will be helpful if you send a small game level created with the Neverwinter Nights (recommended) or Dungeon Siege editor (available online). Please refer to the Sample Level Design Goals document.
