This is the second demo of 'Reign Of The Just', an Ultima VI-type adventure based on the IRE RPG engine of my own devising. Work began in 2000 (though the plan goes back to 1997).
This release theoretically see the game to 66% completion. THe next 'demo' ought to be the finished product. How well it goes depends to some extent on whether anyone will actually help me by providing some portraits. If not it will have to use my sketches, as it does now to some extent.
Anyway, here is Release Candidate 1 of Reign v2. Four maps, nineteen minutes of original incidental music and tons of graphics.
You can now buy spells, meet at least four different races, not meet a few more, name your character, and do stuff. You can't bake bread, but you can make butter, mix drinks and other things.
I've tried to balance humour with the grim setting of the game. It gets sarcastic if you do stupid things. It's not as interactive as U7, but you can have a lot of fun just playing around. Sometimes it even surprises me and I built it.

Windows only, at the moment owing to miserable internet connection. If you download the Windows version and somehow extract the data, on a Windows machine or with Wine, you can run it with the Linux executable from IRE 0.92.
I haven't updated the true homepage at rotj.it-he.org yet, but if you want screenshots before committing to a 30MB download, you are welcome to go there.
Please, test it. This isn't yet v2.00 since there are probably
problems that I don't know about.
