rather than just rely on your standard races, we're looking at using some that are less commonly seen, some we're creating from scratch (which may share certain characteristics with more well-known breeds, but will be distinctly and uniquely our own), and probably even tinkering with common breeds to make them distinct... even "enemy" races (think orcs, etc) will be more than just masses of mindless monsters... we want them to have their own culture and racial personality which you can interact with and learn about... this will separate our creatures from everyone else's and add that much more flavor and vitality to the world
