MxO Vault has kicked up their own review of 'The Matrix Online' The score is 7.6/10 and here's a bit on graphics:The visual style and distinctiveness of a game’s graphics are often overlooked in favor of writing about more technical aspects. While MxO is technically impressive, capable of taxing most current gaming machines, it’s the look of the game that really sets it apart. The Slums area actually looks run down. Junked cars are everywhere, debris blows in the virtual wind, and shady neon signs advertise apartments, stores, and nightclubs. The archive PvP areas are downright beautiful, with distinctive architecture throughout and nice environmental effects. The character models are diverse enough to not be repetitive, but don’t offer the customization options some other games have. That sort of customization isn’t really the focal point of the avatars in MxO; it is far more important for you to score a set of snazzy threads than it is to adjust the width of your character’s jaw line or the size of their ears. Such snappy clothing is readily available, often found as loot or for sale in the game’s marketplace. There is even real world clothing, such as Roca Wear, for players to sport. |
