The RPGvault has interviewed David Licciardi from Elysian Productions on his company's upcoming MMORPG Ages of Athiria.
Here's a bit:Jonric: In your own words, how would you summarize Ages of Athiria and the kind of game you're aiming to create? When did the idea arise, and when did you start working on it?
Derek Licciardi: Ages of Athiria is a fully interactive world simulation on a scale that has never before been attempted. We are aiming to provide the players with a dynamic and flexible playground with which to lead a virtual life of their own design. The idea for our game came about over two years ago. The beginning of the story can be found on our website, www.agesofathiria.com. It will do a much better job of describing the feel for what Athiria is all about than I could in the span of a single interview question. Needless to say, the expectation from the dev team is that we will re-define what it means to "live" in a virtual world. The possibilities our design allows will be pretty amazing once the players get a hold of things in our world. (I should say their world) |
