I came back from a week off yesterday evening. I spent some days with my family out in the countryside to celebrate my 40th birthday there. I purposely chose the place where I grew up over the place where I live now for the celebrations - I wanted to feel "at home". Needless to say that I enjoyed these days very much. We had perfect weather, a nice party, some cold beer and some beautiful memories to share. Being away from the internet, I spent the evenings stargazing with my portable telescope, sitting together with friends and family and having a very good time over all.
And I have to say it was a pleasure to come back as well, seeing our network growing rapidly, with MMORPGDot being so well edited and SWGDot, our site for Star Wars: Galaxies, starting strong. There is more in the pipeline, and before we celebrate our 4th birthday, the unannounced site will go online as well. There's a lot of new editors adding content to the sites each and every day, and I am proud that our hobbyist network has attracted so many talented and dedicated people to use their skills for the community. Serving app. 20.000 people each and every day now, these fine folks do so much for the genre. I want to thank them. When you read names like Moriendor, Hyrrix, Xanaki, Dhruin, Garrett, Myrthos, rinulh or Finch (to name just a few) below the news on our sites: these are the ones to get our respect for their hard work. |
