MMORPG Middle-Earth Online "will work on 56k modems," according to VUG's producer Christopher Taylor in a post on the game's official forums.

In another post Taylor divulged on character customization, "Players pick a nationality for their character. This basically determines where the character was born and if they were born of a particular bloodline." This choice limits amount of the skin colors, hair colors and so forth players can choose for their character.

Taylor acknowledged MEO will support light and dark skinned human characters. Nationality imposes certain limitations though "the range is fairly broad, so even characters from the northern lands can pick darker skin tones."
