In the same series of quick takes from the Game Developer's Conference, Gamespy brings us a short interview (asking the same questions as the Tim Cain Q&A) with Harvey Smith, project manager for Deus Ex 2.
GameSpy: If you could make your fantasy game, regardless of license or technology constraints, what would it be and why?
Smith: That's easy. I'd make a sandbox RPG, like Underworld. It would be an immersive, self-contained ecosystem with lots of exploration. People have the instinct to explore. That's a fundamental drive for me and was prevalent in Deus Ex. As a matter of fact, we will probably be making an exploration pass in Invisible War to add extra content, allowing people to explore the world more without the threat of combat.
