Also on HomeLan this morning is a review of Blizzard's Warcraft III. The game scores high once again as HomeLan awards it 95%.

Here's a little something on the RPG elements:
It's no secret that Blizzard has injected some role playing elements in this edition of Warcraft. The game uses "Heroes" which can be improved with each level to gain new abilities as well as being able to pick up magic items. This "RPG-lite"aspect of Warcraft III also figures into the game's overall storyline where you play in the game's four separate campaigns (five if you count the tutorial that features the orcs). While the main plot of the single player portion game is not exactly original (the fantasy world is threatened with a dark plague known as the Scourge), the individual missions have enough variety and twists to keep me interested and playing through all four campaigns. One of my favorites is in the first Human campaign where you (playing the human Hero Arthas) has to bring down a human town and kill all of its citizens before they become part of the Undead.
