Hopefully the editor will change things, if some good mods were released then it could definitely be a serious hit, however without that chances are people will enjoy the first 40, but after that get closer and closer to shelving the game. Then again, there are a lot of really good games out there that provide fewer than 40 hours of play, so this isn't a major issue.
