If you are unaware of Guild Wars, it’s being developed by former veterans of Blizzard, the makers of among other games Diablo which helped to define the action-RPG genre. Guild Wars, however, is designed as a multiplayer internet only game that allows you to hook up with other players to explore, gather treasure and items and of course crush the various monsters you encounter on the way. Some have compared the game to a MMORPG but that’s not really fair since the game is designed to be played with a small group of players rather than the thousands one encounters in a title like Everquest or Dark Age of Camelot.
