RPGDot Game Rating Machine

SergioCQH has rated the following games:

Age of Wonders II: The Wizard's Throne: 7/10 points

This game has great fundamentals, but lacks in polish. The graphics are bland, the sound is tiring, and the feel is yet-another-turn-based-strategy-game. I just could not warm myself up to it.

Albion: 10/10 points

My sentimental favorite RPG. It had a mystique to it that has never been paralleled by any other RPG. Its setting was unique and creative, a nice break from the medieval swords and sorcery crowd.

Baldur's Gate 2 - Shadows of Amn: 8/10 points

This game is grand, complex, and well-made, but its setting is just too tired and it takes itself too seriously. Where is the humor and charm?

Betrayal at Krondor: 10/10 points

This game was my first RPG love. A well penned story, a grand setting, and charming characters were its strengths. No RPG I have played since has surpassed it in grandeur and pure STYLE.

Dark Age of Camelot: 6/10 points

Dark Age of Camelot receives a lot of complaints about the lack of content within the game. This complaint is unfair as DAoC has not had as much time to develop as its main competitors. The experience from kills leveling system has got to go though.

Demise: Rise of the Ku'tan : 6/10 points

A decent shareware offering but like the previous describes, it's definitely HARD CORE only.

Elder Scrolls 3 - Morrowind: 10/10 points

This is unquestionably the single greatest CRPG ever! The scale of the world, its history, its people...everything is tremendously deep and fantastical!

Etherlords: 7/10 points

Not a bad game at all. The roleplaying elements are VERY light though.

Exile 2: Crystal Souls: 7/10 points

Story: Good. Setting: Awesome. Graphics: Functional. Sound: Annoying Windows type sounds. Characters: Bland. Gameplay: Traditional. Appeal: Hard-core only.

Eye of the Beholder: 6/10 points

I am glad they don't make these dungeon puzzles games anymore. :)

Eye of the Beholder 2 - The Legend of Darkmoon: 6/10 points

This is a classic game with all of the charm as well as all of the faults of classic games. Labyrinthine dungeons and obtuse puzzles drive me nuts! Dungeons and puzzles should make sense and fit into the world, not become obvious game devices.

Fallout 2: 7/10 points

This was a good game but I found its setting tired and drawn out, instead of fresh and interesting like in Fall Out 1. The story also sucked in my opinion.

Gothic: 7/10 points

This game was very immersive and its setting had originality. I enjoyed it for as long as it took to finish it, which wasn't very long at all. Hence my main problem with the game. For all its immersive dream like qualities, it's all over too soon.

Lands of Lore 1 - The Throne Of Chaos: 8/10 points

Ahhh, now this game had atmosphere. The setting positively exuded it!

Neverwinter Nights: 10/10 points

The dream has come true for many fans of AD&D and CRPGs. Here is a bridge to take AD&D gaming from the pen-and-paper past to the digital future. Here is the 3rd Edition in almost all of its glory. Neverwinter Nights is a truly seminal project that will be remembered as a significant leap forward in the evolution of CRPGs. It is perhaps the first ever to empower the player with the ability to create and control his own adventures and to share it with others. This is history, be a part of it!

Planescape: Torment: 10/10 points

My absolute favorite RPG ever. The best characters in the best setting in the best story ever.

Quest for Glory 1 - So You Want to be a Hero?: 8/10 points

Cliched but in a time when that wasn't so bad. It did not take itself too seriously, and had much charm...a quality many games lack these days.

Sea Dogs: 7/10 points

An adequate game in every sense of the word. Everything about is just adequate...but it's fun enough.

System Shock 2: 8/10 points

A worthy sequel to the original but it ain't so original anymore. I'm just not a fan of sequels that much...

Ultima 4 - Quest of the Avatar: 7/10 points

For it's time, it was a good game but it does not deserve classic status.

Ultima 7 - Serpent Isle (Sequel): 8/10 points

Serpent Isle and Black Gate comprise the best installment in the Ultima series.

Unlimited Adventures: 6/10 points

You can make your own adventure...if your idea of an adventure is all hack and slash.

Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos: 9/10 points

WarCraft 3 is superb but it is not without faults. The upkeep system is just a bit too restrictive and the RPG-esque hero system is quite imperfect.

Wizardry 8: 7/10 points

This is a good RPG but I did not like the combat system at all. It's slow and tedious and you have fight every 5 steps.
