RPGDot Game Rating Machine

dteowner has rated the following games:

Fallout - A Post Nuclear Adventure: 9/10 points

One of the few games where your gaming experience was different depending on how you chose to grow your character. Character development was done so well (and with some really neat "tweaks") that it's been copied several times since.

Freelancer: 8/10 points

An absolute blast to play, but runs low on gas once the story is over unless the player is self-motivated to continue.

Majesty - The Northern Expansion: 8/10 points

If you liked the original, you'll find the additions well worth the purchase.

Might & Magic 7 - For Blood and Honor: 10/10 points

Many people griped about the poor graphics. I had no problem with them myself. Besides, when a game is so much fun to play, who cares if it won't win a beauty pageant? The story and character development draw you in and never let go. As one of only 4 RPGs I've ever wanted to replay, I'd have top say this one is my favorite of all time.

Might & Magic 8 - Day of the Destroyer: 8/10 points

All the fun you've come to expect from the M&M series... This one doesn't quite stand up to the earlier installments, though. The poor graphics that people griped about in MM7 are back and might be even worse. You start with one character and recruit others instead of building your party from the beginning. Perhaps the biggest sin is in play balance, since one character race is dramatically overpowered. Even with all the flaws, you just can't kill the M&M winning formula for gaming addiction

Neverwinter Nights: 9/10 points

The official campaign wasn't the best, but the toolset made that problem easy to overcome.

Planescape: Torment: 8/10 points

A conversation-intensive game where what you say to someone actually matters. I've always been frustrated by the slow character development in the AD&D games, which caused me downgrade the score some, but this game is certainly worth your time, particularly if you enjoy the "story" aspect of RPGs.

Wizardry 8: 9/10 points

The only reason this isn't a "10" is that occasionally a battle will drag out too much. If the poll allowed "9.9", that's what I'd go with. For story, character development, and sheer addiction, this game is among the best ever.

Wizards & Warriors - Quest for the Mavin Sword: 5/10 points

Woulda, coulda, shoulda... This game had a great deal of potential. If you can look past the numerous bugs and the poor conversation system (particularly the awful way it handles quests), there's a good game hiding in there.
