Just 12 days before its release, RPGVault has posted a preview of Harbinger. They are very fond of the game, based on their experience with the beta, and predict this will be more than a sleeper hit. Here's what they have to say about character classes:
All the characters have four basic attributes, which differ somewhat from one to another. The Gladiator's are Melee. Ranged, Override and Life. For the Human, Rigging replaces Override, while in the case of the Culibine, Focus takes this place. In all instances, they are related to the use of the character's special devices, some of which cannot be used if a minimum number of points has not been reached. The Culibine also has Radial as a substitute for Melee. Advancement works on an uncomplicated system. You receive experience points for killing enemies, uncovering secret areas and completing missions. Each time you attain a new level, you receive points that you can distribute among the four scores. As well, you can acquire better weapons, armor and in the case of the Culibine, gauntlets. Furthermore, some of these items can be upgraded. They have slots that accept chips with varying qualities such as different types of damage such as plasma, EMP and corrosive, or increased regeneration rate; these enhancements also come in a range of qualities. |
