CGOnline's latest feature is introducing some of the heroes of Iraational Games' Super Hero Tactical Action RPG Freedom Force. Here'S one of them:
Alche-Miss
Real Name: Catherine Larchmont-Price
Age: 19
Height: 5'8
Quote: "Stand clear, y'all... dunno what this is gonna do..."
Background
The Alche-Miss is something of an enigma. On the surface, the one that the public sees, she is a self-assured, sarcastic, attractive and headstrong young woman who's never one to take being given orders without at least some resistance. She also knows how to flaunt her charms, being something of a pinup girl for the team's fans. Though, as she's quick to warn with a disarming giggle, "I'm a Southern belle... but the boys better watch out, 'cos ah've sure got a sting in my tail!"
There is a darker side to Catherine Larchmont-Price, however. The side of her that appears during the use of her powers is quite different from her public façade, according to eyewitnesses who have seen her in action. Reports vary, but most insist on her being quite different; an eerie, almost ghostlike voice, fiercely glowing eyes, and a demeanor that most say falls somewhere between "emotionally cold" and "ruthless".
It has even been rumored that Freedom Force themselves are looking into whether or not Catherine Larchmont-Price and the Alche-Miss are in fact two separate entities entirely, rather than a superhuman in her own right. On this theory, though, Alche-Miss will say nothing, parrying questions about such rumors with both her charm and her sharp wit... though, it should also be noted, usually with a hint of fear in her eyes. Fear of what, though, remains to be seen.
Powers
Alche-Miss's powers seem to stem from a combination of magic and energy manipulation, although the exact nature of them is uncertain (and, some would say, seemingly random). What is known for certain, though, is that most of her power use revolves around her use of words and gestures that evoke images of a classic fairy-tale wizard or witch casting spells. Whether this is a necessary part of her power use or just for show, though, seems to be a matter of debate, even amongst her teammates.
