The German version includes many bugfixes already, also some that are in patch 1.2, so maybe patch 1.2 for the US version is also out soon. The most important advantage of the German version is the full voice acting with the German voices of for example Angelina Jolie, Charles Bronson, Kirk Douglas or Burt Reynolds. However, the German retail version doesn't seem to have automap, character customization or background music yet - looks like that has to wait for another patch as well.
