HomeLan has written a preview of Call of Cthulhu - Dark Corners of the Earth, based on their impressions at E3:
We got to see three levels in Call of Cthulhu during our time at E3. One takes place while Walters was still a cop as he and his fellow officers deal with a shooting outside Boston. We got to see some of the effects that Headfirst is handling for the game, including blurred vision caused by Walters literally losing his mind at time. We also got to see the game’s graphics engine which has a solid look to it with detailed level textures and some impressive lighting effects. At one point in the first mission, our hero stumbles upon some Lovecraftian weird technology which he somehow managed to fire up (why he would want to start up a strange and alien looking device while in a strange location is a mystery to me) What follows is seeing a dimensional gate opening..and a very big and horrifying creature coming out of the gate.
