Dark fantasy, unlike your standard elves and dragons crap, typically takes place in a dystopian environment, and such is the case here. The world of Geralt of Rivia is frought with violence, vulgarity, racism, totalitarianism, and sexuality. Geralt himself is a peerless swordsman who has been alchemically mutated from birth, to the point where his hair has gone completely white, and his cat-like eyes allow him to see in the dark. Geralt also does not age.
