They start out with the author Jean Luc Picard likes most *g*: William Shakespeare: Exiled from England and reeling from a series of flops, the "Bard of Barcelona" is finding it hard to adapt his writing to the tastes of Spaniards. He now haunts the shadier inns and taverns of Barcelona, hiding from his many creditors and drowning his sorrow in bad wine. Alternate history, you know :-). Amongst the other characters they describe you'll find the Wererat, Farshid and Miguel Cervantes.
