The other MMORPG I am participating in the beta right now is Neocron. Gamespy did a nice preview, and here's what they write about character generation:

As of now, there are four classes in the game: the Spy, the Private Eye, the Tank, and the Psi-Monk. The Spy is a shadowy character, more attuned to hacking and silent takedowns. They are worthless in a stand-up fight, however. The Private Eye is more of an all-around character, with decent skills in many areas. They tend to be useful in many areas but masters of none, unless the player decides to specialize. The Tanks are a genetically bred race of Warrior Drones, stupid and tough as nails. They are the fighters of Neocron, unable to learn anything but how to bring pain. The enigmatic Psi-Monks are the closest thing to a Magic-User or Healer in Neocron. They are practically blind, have pale skin, and have very fragile health. Their abilities more than make up for their physical shortcomings, however, as they can both heal and wreak terrible destruction with their psionics.

Generally speaking, they liked what they saw, and so do I, becuase the dark, postapocalyptic setting has a dense atmosphere and reminds me of System Shock or Deus Ex. This isn't your run-of-the-mill MMORPG, and could become a very nice game for those who like the genre.
