Next Level Gaming's Daniel Comer wasn't very impressed with Dungeon Siege II, as indicative of his rather unremarkable review in which he doesn't really give an overall scoring - nevertheless his rating system does add up to a miserly 5.6 out of 10 overall...

Was I the only one that got bored with Dungeon Siege when it first came out? Well of all my friends I was the only one who seemed to have a problem with the combat. I found that your character was insignificant in combat and the game got rather boring because of that fact. When you did engage it often boiled down to a button mashing fest that changed little during the course of the game. Now don’t get me wrong, I thought the game had some great features, but that was it, just a bunch of features strong together, with no real game to connect them all. I was so disappointed they fell short of making something great with their tools, so I was very excited to get my hands on Dungeon Siege II and see if they had finally put a game together with their cool ideas and game engine.
