Before someone points out this has been repeated, it's actually a different article to the PS2 review. The Xbox version of Fallout: BoS also achieved a score of 3/5 in Gamespy's review:
Dark Alliance was, of course, the latest standout in the ancient hack-and-whack genre. At the time of its late-2001 release on PS2, Dark Alliance was arguably the most visually stunning console game from a U.S. developer, so I can understand Interplay's desire to milk the engine for all it's worth. But despite Interplay's claim that 80% of the Alliance engine was rewritten for Brotherhood, it still just looks and feels like BG:DA with a sci-fi makeover -- and between Brotherhood of Steel, Dark Alliance, and the upcoming Dark Alliance lI, Interplay is overpopulating the Xbox's hack-and-whack genre all by itself.
