Overview of the fifth level

Four Small Rooms
This is the last level of the catacombs and here you will unravel what bad things have happened to Mardaneus. If you want to do this quickly then just walk straight on. But if you don't then either go left or right.

..itsy bitsy spider..

This level is build symmetrical and in each of the corners there are some tiles where one of them can be clicked. Each of these tiles will lead you to a small room where you will find a lot of useful stuff, such as gems, potions and armor. Also in each of the rooms you will find a single bad guy, a skeleton lord, a skeletal conjurer lord, a skeletal guardian and a big spider (and I mean BIG). So once you cleared out everything go to the center area and meet an other skeleton. But don't kill this one, he is friendly and his name is Desmond.

A Resurrection
If you have been reading the books then you should know that someone who doesn't like the healers of Aleroth has been working on a way to get resurrected. And Desmond is one of his followers as he will explain to you. Talk to him and find out that there is a sequence of actions that need to be taken in order to resurrect Thelryon.

Ask Desmond to show you and he will lead you to his lever he needs to pull, the lever of flesh. An animation will play, showing the four levers and in each of them a skeleton. Well in one case the skeleton is in pieces on the floor. So to cut a long story short you will have to pull that lever.
Before you do, you might consider talking to the skeletons as each of them has a funny story of what they were in their real life.

When you are ready stand in front of the third lever and if you do an animation will play, showing the first and the second lever being pulled. The animation stops with you, pull the lever and the sequence is completed and Thelryon is resurrected.

After the Big Bang... ...Thelryon is resurrected

Not So Happy
Thelryon is very happy that he has been resurrected and you can ask him about how things came to be this way. He will explain to you that he had a long standing beef with Mardaneus and that he tapped his mind

Then suddenly Thelryon feels a lot of pain for some reason. He sees that this is apparently not the way and he wants you to kill him and his minions. So you comply and kill him, after which all hell brakes loose and skeletons pop up from everywhere. It's a hackfest!!!

Skellies all over the place I hope someone cleans up this mess

Assuming you survived this, walk out and a portal opens with Mardaneus coming out, who is very happy and which will also add 2 reputation points to your total. If you find the fight to be too much then just flee north and meet with Mardaneus, talk to him and then go back. you find out that everything has been killed and you can collect all the goodies then. Of course you don't get the XP for killing them then.
Go with Mardaneus back to Aleroth through the portal and you can learn more from him about how things have come to this.
This leaves the healers of Aleroth only with the problem of the Shrine which has lost contact with the source (this quest can not be solved in the demo). But before you go on get healed for free by Mardaneus.
