The Japanese server of Dark Age of Camelot (named Akatsuki), which has been in beta testing for several months now, began accepting registrations on January 18 and will begin charging customers on February 1. New customers will receive 14 days of free play. Monthly rates are comparable to the new US rates (1500 yen = $14.52/month).

The Japanese language client, currently available as a free download, includes all the DAoC expansions except for Catacombs, which is scheduled for a Spring 2005 release. The game now runs Trials of Atlantis 1.71 translated into Japanese. Most of the bugfixes have addressed keywords triggering quest steps.
