With a powerful story based on recognisable locations, with a (once) plausible history (who knows, we may yet blow ourselves up...) behind it, an excellent moral basis for many decisions and a fresh approach to what was an ageing genre, Black Isle showed their hand as a capable and competent software developer. The most appealling feature was the strong 50s themes runing through the game, and it was a pity that the following games didn't quite contine along that path.
