The third part of Just RPG's 'Dark and Light' interview series is online with Stephane Quilichini answering more questions:Just RPG: Fans have been able to notice in recently released screenshots a sensible improvement of the graphics over time. How far along are you in the creation of the game engine and what are your development priorities right now?
SQ: Our current priority is to integrate the Bigworld server technology by Microforte with our 3D engine, Mafate. We’ve been working on this for over a year and have had to customise things a bit as Microforte didn’t cater for a game world as vast as ours. This combination (Bigworld and Mafate) allows us to make this single world for all our players a reality. Development wise, we feel that we are done integrating the exploration aspect of the game. We also hope to complete the integration of the fighting design shortly, then follow that up with the integration of trade and, finally, the political system. These are the 4 major gameplay elements of DnL. |
