Microsoft just sent in the following press release regarding details about tomorrow's end of the beta test:Asheron's Call 2 Fallen Kings End-of-Beta Episode Begins October 31Citizens of Dereth Combat Invading Forces and Fearsome DragonsThe world of Dereth is about to change ... again! Microsoft today announced a special end-of-beta episode which will begin tomorrow (October 31) and run through November 3. This episode will give beta testers their first taste of the dynamic world of Asheron's Call 2 that players will experience once the game hits store shelves next month.
Just as its predecessor, Asheron's Call 2 Fallen Kings will feature monthly episodic content. Taking place hundreds of years later than the original game, the AC2 world has changed considerably. But when the end-of-beta episodic update begins tomorrow, the citizens of Dereth will be in for even more surprises: The sky will have turned blood red, and new Kingdom fortresses will have appeared. Along with these changes, fierce creatures -- including the fearsome dragon-like Tyrants -- will have overrun parts of Dereth.
This end-of-beta event will feature features in-game vignettes to help set the story, a quest panel that dynamically assigns new quests related to the monthly event, dramatic world changes such as red sky and towns razed to the ground. This event will also introduce new and upcoming features such as rideable mounts.
Asheron's Call 2 Fallen Kings, the sequel to the popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) Asheron's Call, will advance the MMORPG genre with the advanced Turbine Engine G2 graphics engine, providing some of the most sophisticated graphics available on a PC. Asheron's Call 2 Fallen Kings features a dynamic, evolving fantasy world that reacts to players' behavior and actions. Developed by Turbine Entertainment Software Corp., the game includes features such as a revamped combat system and new in-depth crafting system that gives players a chance to pursue noncombative skills. Asheron's Call 2 Fallen Kings will be available on November 22 for an estimated retail price of $49.99 (U.S.) with a monthly subscription of $12.95.
