Wandoo issued the following press release today to announce a fully localized Spanish version of 'Dark Age of Camelot'...RELEASE OF THE MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER ONLINE GAME "DARK AGE OF CAMELOT" IN SPAIN IN SPRING 2005
Paris, October 29 2004
The European leader of massively multiplayer online games, Dark Age of Camelot, developed by the American studio Mythic Entertainment, was released in Europe by GOA in early 2002. Since then, it has enjoyed a continuous success, with more than 350,000 boxes sold and more than 170,000 players registered. The game, adapted in English, French and German, draws many fans from all over Europe. In Spring 2005, Spanish players will also be able to enjoy Dark Age of Camelot entirely localised, in collaboration with Wanadoo, the number two internet provider in Spain.
In the MMORPG universe, Dark Age of Camelot, has become the reference thanks to its unique principle of simultaneous cooperation and rivalry (RvR – "Realm versus Realm"); perpetually changing at the mercy of the wars existing between the 3 realms. Each year, new territories and new expansions appear and continue to keep the game ahead of the competition. Three years after its launch, this game still rouses the passions of an increasing number of players; the adventure is just beginning for the leading MMORPG in Europe...
The first MMORPG entirely translated into German and French, Dark Age of Camelot is also about to be the first one localised in Spanish. This version will benefit from the same quality level as the other language territories: integral translation of the game and of the community website (more than 2 million words!) as well as the release of simultaneous expansions and customer support by Spanish Community Managers. This release has been eagerly awaited by the strong Spanish community, where role-playing games, heroic fantasy and tales from the Middle Ages are very popular, as well as Celtic culture, which is still well represented in Spain.
GOA benefits from five years of experience in implementation of massively multiplayer games as the precursor and leader of this activity in Europe. Its multilingual teams bring together their passion for the game and their varied skills as well as the technical platform of France Télécom to give Spanish and European players the best of online games.
