Better late than never, the guys at PC Paradox thought and posted their preview of Disciples 2 - Dark Prophecy. It is a neat one, and makes a good reading for a lazy sunday. Take this as an example:
Disciples II's graphics have taken an enormous leap from its predecessor. Sacred Lands' visual effects were rather weak and outdated but Dark Prophecy takes advantage of 800 by 600 pixels resolution and makes major artistic and animation improvements . Still it does not support 3D-acceleration, which is not essential for its type. In fact, Strategy First's choice to keep Disciples II in 2D allows them to focus on their other features which becomes obvious after seeing its depth.
One issue to address when considering buying this game is the learning curve. Discples II isn't a tough game to learn its basic, but to fully grasp every feature's potential may take time. I spent a couple hours fiddling with different tactics and found so many new spells, strucutres, and units. This is the only issue from which players may be discouraged. |
