RPG Vault has put up #31 in their Dragon Empires Q&A series, this time asking Codemaster's Peter Tyson to discuss the quest system:Jonric: To what extent are you planning to offer one-time or one-time per server GM-led quests and events? What do you see as the main benefits and drawbacks associated with them?
Peter Tyson: We really think GM-led quests and events are fun; they provide a good way to get a lot of players involved in some story elements and a chance for GMs and players to really let their hair down and to take a break from day to day playing.
However, we can also do short-term quests. For example, at Christmas, we might run a treasure hunt for a week from special NPCs we create and provide special rewards to those who complete the treasure hunt. This means that you don't have to worry if you miss GM events; there are always other cool new quests and events to get involved with in your own time. Well, those are some ideas we're looking at! |
