WoW makes it very easy to find quest giving NPCs. If an NPC has a quest that you can take up, they will have a large yellow exclamation mark above their heads. So you don't have to blindly go around and hail every NPC you see hoping you find someone that will give you a quest or even respond. And even better you can see what the possible rewards are before accepting each quest. Even if the rewards aren't suited to your class, you could usually sell the reward for some cash.
