CDV has notified us of their ECTS (gaming fair in London in September) line-up which they call the "Magnificent Eight". The line-up includes two RPG's.
First of all, Larian Studios' very promising epic fantasy RPG Divine Divinity and, second of all, Reakktor's futuristic MMORPG Neocron. In case you're heading for ECTS you won't wanna miss those.
Here's the RPG relevant parts of the press release plus some company info in case you're still unfamiliar with CDV:CDV's line-up for 2002 reveals strength in depth
CDV Software Entertainment is gearing up for its biggest ever
international showing at ECTS 2001. Taking full advantage of the superior
facilities at London's ExCeL, CDV will have one of the largest stands of
any games publisher at the show, with eight new titles on display.
CDV has a growing portfolio of PC titles covering genres from real-time
strategy games to first person shooters and role-playing games. The
company sources titles from the very best European development teams and
is known for its ability to spot a potentially brilliant studio and
nurture its talents.
The new titles on show at ECTS 2001 will all be shown running playable
code and with representatives from the development companies on hand to
give in-depth demonstrations. Senior personnel from both the German head
office and the UK office will also be on stand to meet with business
partners and the press.
Divine Divinity
This classic RPG spans over 20,000 screens and featuring some of the most
detailed and intricately animated graphics ever seen in the genre. With
some highly original spells and non-playing characters each with their own
motivations and intelligence, Divine Divinity is a challenging and
absorbing game that will be eminently replayable as well.
Neocron
Neocron is the MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online RPG) developed by
Reakktor Media that has got everyone talking. Over 62,000 people have
applied to take part in the beta test schedule which begins in September,
wanting to immerse themselves in Neocron's post-Apocalyptic Blade
Runner-style universe. Whether you wish to live life in the 28th century
as a law-abiding citizen or regularly take to the holographic deathmatch
arenas, there is something for everyone in the vast city of Neocron.
