Dr. Twister went to E3 also and besides having some entertaining stories he also came back with some short previews on Anarchy Online
Yes, Anarchy Online is different, but it's a first. With that honor, the development team should be prepared for either a lengthy success, or an immediate failure. It will only be through word of mouth that this game becomes successful. The most difficult question being, how does a non-US based company support a game geared towards the American gamer? Well maybe that's it! Maybe they are banking on the fact that no one has really gone after the European market of gamers.
Dark Ages of Camelot
Some of the things I saw which I liked include the spell system, architecture and the clothes. We could focus on spells, but debating on which game has the best spell system is a waste of time. Camelot seems to have added a little more depth to the spell graphics, more polys, more colors and a little more elaborate effects on impact. The buildings, specifically the castle itself, hold amazing details and flexibility and opportunity for exploration. I'm hoping that they'll offer the ability to find hidden passages, long dark stairwells and secret chambers - this is the type of interaction no one has attempted yet.
And Shadowbane
WolfPack also takes the concept of Dread Lords vs. Great Lords one step further. It's something I've expressed on more occasions than once - recognition. Take away the titles from UO, replace them with a crest/shield, and now take over a plot of land. You own land, your shield is displayed on the map. Someone comes along and destroys your guild, their shield takes your shields place. Players now have instant gratification and recognition for their accomplishments. What? We're giving recognition for destruction and chaos of another players land? Cool...
