1) The Star Wars: Galaxies FAQ has been updated with the following questions (answers inside):
- 3.38 Will I be able to customize my character's appearance?
- 5.18 How will combat deal with Internet latency?
2) Kevin "Q-3PO" O'Hara (Community Relations Manager) has announced that the following changes have been applied to already existing FAQ entries:
2.01 How many planets will there be in the game?
We're still finalizing the list of planets and locations, but players will be able to visit many familiar Star Wars sites such as Tatooine, Naboo and Yavin IV, as well as some never-before-seen worlds from the expanded Star Wars universe!
5.08 Will there be vehicle-based weapons?
Yes, we plan to support them. For the initial release, we're going to only let vehicles have one nose-mounted weapon though.
3) Haden "Shug_Ninx" Blackman has posted part 2 of his Austin visit report. In it he unveils a new planet. Yavin 4 will make it into the game.
Here's a snip:
...For those unfamiliar with Star Wars lore, Yavin 4 is a jungle moon (orbiting the gas giant Yavin with mysterious (and perhaps even mystical) temples and an abundance of wildlife. It has a long history that involves the Sith and the dark side. Shortly before the events of the original Star Wars, the Rebels built a secret base on the moon, from which they launched their successful attack on the Death Star. After the destruction of the Death Star, the still-reeling Empire tried bombing Yavin 4, but it was some months before the Rebels left the moon completely. During the time period of our game (just after the destruction of the Death Star), the Alliance still has a presence on Yavin 4, but the Imperials are establishing a foothold as well... It should prove a very rich world, in a variety of ways...
4) Last one is from Raph "Holocron" Koster (Creative Director). He comments on the ever present issue of PvP (Player vs. Player) in this thread.
