Troika's Half-Life 2/Source -powered Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines has been previewed at GamesRadar. Here's a comment on combat:
However, despite the strong role-playing structure underlying the game, Bloodlines will also be using Deus Ex's approach to combat. Rather than a purely statistical number crunch, you'll be thrown into the genuine first-person combat of action games, utilising a variety of weapons in a manner more visceral than most fantasy games would choose. You can load up with everything from shotguns and flamethrowers to the more exotic weapons of Vampire's gothic-punk world, such as stake launchers. However, as in Deus Ex, your developed abilities will interact with your fighting prowess. For example, if your ranged skill is inadequate, don't expect pixel-perfect accuracy.
