Here's something from that article: There are eight races to choose from in the game: humans, elves, dwarves, minotaur, centaur, shades, aracoix, aelfborn and half-giants. There are numerous visual customizations for each of the races so you can adjust your character's look to suit your tastes. But apart from the aesthetic choices, you'll need to select one of the game's four starting classes: fighter, mage, cleric and thief. While this may seem somewhat limited, the game also offers 18 promotion classes that you can eventually select to refine your class. If, for instance, you choose ranger as your promotion class, the basic class you selected determines the type of ranger you are. A fighter ranger can wear heavy armors, while a thief ranger will excel at moving silently through the forest.
