A review of Disciples 2 - Dark Prophecy is online today at Gone Gold. It received a platinum award (with a rating of 92/100), and the conclusion of the article is equally enthusiastic:
All in all, Disciples II is a great game with excellent graphics and sound. If you have ever played any other turn-based strategy game in your life, you will feel right at home with Disciples. There is nothing new or inventive here, but it is addictive and will draw you into the gameplay. The story is good and holds the game together, but it all comes down to the fighting. Despite some drawbacks, this is a good game, if you can look past the sometimes repetitious combat. It should hold you over until Heroes of Might and Magic IV, and is a good game in its own right. Recommended to anybody who likes this type of game.
