Anarchy Online: Exploits and Overequipping

Gaute Godager, the game director for Anarchy Online, has written an article about Exploiters, overequipping and the rest. Hot topic, short snippit:

    Let me remind you first why overequipping and exploiters are pooled in this way, it might be hard to see the connection. The reason is simply that we want to make sure that "breaking the rules", "bending the rules" and "working within the rules" are clearly defined. With this article, hopefully fewer cases will be in the "bending" category! That should make it easier for the GMs and ARKs on the one side - and the players on the other.

    The area of overequipping is more difficult than it seems. There is no big "majority" push for a specific solution. (As could be seen in the exploiters area.) Some people call for a total rebalancing of the game before this could happen. I think we are closing in on having quite a solid and predictable balance of the game at the moment - there are some exceptions though, and I can get back to you on this later.´
