18 months ago, we posted a newsbit that Jagged Alliance 3 was in the early planning stages. Since then: nothing. Our exclusive report on the troubles at Strategy First (they had to close their Ottawa Office where the remainders of SirTech, makers of JA 2 and Wizardry 8 were employed) stirred up some reactions, amongst them one about Jagged Alliance 3. This article at Gamespot states that The Ottawa Studio was working on a new Jagged Alliance game, and that SFI still holds the rights to this franchise:
Strategy First had high hopes for a strong successor to Jagged Alliance, and there are still tentative plans to keep the project alive. It hasn't been decided if the project will be developed internally or by an external studio, or if the former Sirtech team will be involved with the further development of the game. There are no plans to make an announcement on the franchise's future until concrete plans have been put in motion.
I don't know how much a JA 3 would be worth if not developed by SirTech, since there are assets you can't just transfer to another team, can you?
