1) The Star Wars: Galaxies FAQ has been updated with this Q + the corresponding A:
6.34 What sorts of resources do we mine, and do they run out?
There's a wide array of resources to be extracted from the landscape in Star Wars Galaxies. Minerals, water, various forms of power generation (solar, hydro, etc), crystals, and other substances are all things that can be surveyed for and mined or otherwise extracted. Many resources are finite, and can be completely mined out from the galaxy. When this occurs, new types of resources may be discovered by players. This leads to turnover in the economy, as objects made of unobtainable or rare materials may become more difficult to repair.
2) Kevin "Q-3PO" O'Hara, Community Relations Manager, has some info on the movie that was supposed to be released July, 18. It's going to be delayed until further notice but they got something else in the pipeline to make up for it:
I have some unfortunate news. We are going to delay the QuickTime movie a bit. It will not go up on July 18th as planned but instead will go to the "coming soon" category. I'll get you a firm date when I know it.
I apologize to those of you who were eagerly waiting to see it. When dealing with two different companies on a project this big there are many levels of approval certain things must go through. Although we have a good rough cut, it has been decided that the direction of the movie needs to change somewhat. We intend to give you a brief glimpse of what was seen at E3.
However, I refuse to just leave you out to dry. Although I can't make up for not showing the QuickTime movie, I will use this cheap tactic to try and distract you:
COMING WEDNESDAY JULY 18th, TWO, COUNT THEM, TWO ADDITIONAL 360 SCREENSHOTS.
Did it work? Well, if not, please have patience with us.
Please note, the delay in the release of the QuickTime movie is not a reflection on the progress of the game. Everyone just wants to make certain that the movie is as polished as possible. From what we've seen of the teaser so far, though, we think that it will be well worth the wait.
