Every two weeks EQ Vault will present a mini Q&A with Alan VanCouvering from SOE answering two reader-submitted questions about EQ: Lost Dungeons of Norrath. Here's a first question from this first episode:Lepidus: The much-anticipated dynamic dungeon system is one of the coolest features about Lost Dungeons. Do you think you could explain that feature a little more?
Alan VanCouvering: An adventure starts with the gathering of your group. You'll get together and then find a Wayfarer camp. Talking to the Wayfarers reveals that they have a task that they would like you to complete. The Wayfarer estimates the ability of your group and asks you to complete a task that he believes is within your ability, but your group leader can ask for a harder task if your group is feeling brave.
As soon as you accept the task, a dungeon instance is created. This is a complete dungeon, with NPCs, objects, and everything. Only your group can enter this dungeon, and they can come and go as they wish for as long as the zone remains.[More...] There's also three new screenshots. You can find the article here. |
