RuneScape breaks subscriber and concurrent player records

Browser based MMORPG passes 130,000 subscribers today

07th October, Cambridge, UK. Jagex, the developer and operator of the 3D Java online adventure game RuneScape today announces that it now has more than 130,000 subscribers and has seen a record 60,000 concurrent players.

'In the same week we have passed the 130,000 subscriber mark for our members game and had a record 60,000 players online at the same time, which shows that our free game continues to grow strongly. The free game now has over 1.5 million active players.' says Managing Director, Constant Tedder. 'RuneScape is growing beyond the traditional MMORPG market by attracting new kinds of players.
