squad fighting with rpg-elements - one of my all time favorites. i have played it on the profi setting without too much trouble -> fight at night for the harder battles.
For fans: download the 25 MB Mod Deidranna Lives - this one is even harder to play, because most weapons are new and do more damage. |

I hate-hate-hate-hate-hate-HATE! my dutch version of JA2. Why !? did they ever bother to translate it into dutch ? It makes it almost impossible to play for me. (I dislike my own language when it comes to computer games) And there's quite some bugs left open as well, because no dutch patch ever arrived.
But when I force myself to look past the horrible duthc translation, I see a very good game.
Still hoping to find an english copy in a bargin bin somewhere. |

Not your traditional CRPG... but easily one of the most fun ones. Great characters and dialogue. For the most part I enjoy the meticulous micromanagement of this game, but one too many random encounters that last an hour each was probably could really get to you at time. |

I don t have a game i could compare this one with, besides of JA1 / DG and JA2:UB. Maybe Fallout Tactics ? Nah, not really. It isn t only a RPG, no it is MUCH more than that. Totally excellent combat strategies possible, a quite huge variety of items and a neverending fun factor make this game one of my favorite games i ve ever played. The Main Story is quite simple but many subquests raise the players´ morale due to nice items to be found after finishing em.
Also runs with todays PCs without making a problem. Jagged Alliance GOLD (JA2 + JA2:UB) isn t really worth to be bought by people who have both of the games already. |

Mix a strategy game, a turn-based 1/2 realistic combat system and a sort of RPG. What do you get? A bad game. Unless its JA2.
When i 1st played it, it didnt sound like much. By the 1st day i was hooked. Usually i give games to friends after i finish them. JA2 in in my "resident" collection, so, what bigger accolade can i give it? |

Such a unique RPG. On one hand it is a strategy game, and yet the character interaction and story really do push it into the RPG genera. I loved this game and still play it now and again. Everytime I play it I always wish that there was a D&D setting using this strategy format for combat. The combat is AMAZING. The interupts and skills all work together so well. My biggest hope is that The Temple of Elemental Evil that Troika is doing will be a D&D version of JA2; a deep story driven RPG that has combat as strategic and intricate as JA2. |

Still in 2004 i installed JA2 after i tried Silent Storm. Silent Storm is a big disappointing in game flow, voice acting and the possible overview (yes, with greater zoom acitvated). BUT JA2, ahhh what a fun to come back to this great piece of software. The voiceacting for every single person is of great quality. The interface is fantastic, no click to much. The story is fun to play. AND THE COMBAT is awesome fun, realistic with a good AI. Its one of the most underrated piece of software. And Sir Tech is gone, what a crap because i loved Wizardry like this. |

I give JA2 a 10. Why?
Puh, just a short answer, because it makes you love the damn weapons, even if you dont like any, just like me! But all JA2 is about, is weapons, MG, Pistol, launchers, knife, tools, bombs, etc, etc. Nearly every kind of weapon has been taken into JA2. Also their use and effects are done very accurate. The other side of JA2 are the fancy characters, their values, their habbits, just unique. All this brought together makes a terribly good strategy and tactical warfare game, with a lot of things to explore. But if you get stuck just a little bit into JA2, man...I didnt evade anymore, just had to play it right to the end. JA2 is definitely a trap! Caution! |
