Gamespy has conducted an interview with Dirk P. Hassinger, Head of Development over at ZUXXEZ Entertainment, about their recently announced game KnightShif (which is said to contain some RPG elements, and yes, I chose these words carefully). Here's a snip:
GameSpy: Tell us the basic premise behind KnightShift. What's the game all about and what's with all those darned cows?
Hassinger: KnightShift tells about the adventures of young Prince Mirko - this is the character represented by the player in the game. The Prince is present in all missions. His appearance and behavior allow the player to quickly identify with him. During the game, both Mirko and other heroes gain experience and new equipment, which directly influences their skill level and combat parameters. Thanks to this, the relationship between the player and his characters becomes stronger with each mission. Such a strong relationship between the player and his hero is one of the basic RPG features, unparalleled in RTS games. Within the game the prince is banned and has to built up villages with many cows and a small army of gallant knights to finally conquer back the kingdom of his father. Meanwhile he will marry a beautiful girl, his wife later on will be captured by dark priests, and a lonely dragon is also involved in the story.
GameSpy: Tell us more about the cows. What is their special purpose in the game and how important are they to the overall gameplay?
Hassinger: The cows eat grass and shit on the lawn, but they produce the important resource in the game: milk. The economic system of KnightShift is very simple. You need a stable, enough grass, a Shepherd and take care about the cows. We are very proud of having designed very funny full digital animated cows |
