Voodoo Extreme has snagged the latest edition of the SW:G newsletter that was released, and posted it up on the site. Here is the full update:
In August, the ever-growing Star Wars Galaxies community learned some important information about the players' role in the military and the Hutt criminal faction. Haden Blackman, our LucasArts SWG producer, talked in detail about the official continuity and our place in it. We showed some cool 360 screenshots of Twi'leks and Humans. You can check out the side bar to link to all the happenings of last month.
Behind the scenes, the development team met another one of our internal milestones. Customized human characters can walk around four different first-pass, full-sized worlds and interact with each other. Our first round of motion captures resulted in a ton of new animations for our characters to do. All of our design documents are complete and in the hands of LucasArts for review. That doesn't mean we can't make changes as we go forward, just that we now have something solid to work off of. Although, there is still a lot of work to do to bring it all together, it is really starting to feel like a living game.
Coming up this next month, we will release the E3 First Footage QuickTime. It had been pushed back for a while for a variety of reasons, but we are finally just about ready to unveil it. The QuickTime is nearing approval and we should have a release date within the next week. In addition, to follow it up we will have our first ever Developer's Chat. Meet Rich "BoShek" Vogel, Haden "Shug_Ninx" Blackman, Raph "Holocron" Koster and yours truly in a 1 hour chat session on The Station. We'll be there to answer your questions and maybe even leak out a little more information about the game. In September, we will also showcase our final two, never before seen, player species, the Rodian and the Wookiee in 360 degree screenshots. We'll also show off another piece of creature concept art and ask you to guess what it is in our final round of the Guess the Creature Official E3 T-Shirt contest. That's not enough, you say? Well, there will be new FAQs, polls, team letters and someone might reveal the name of another planet we are working on. Should be a pretty exciting month around the site.
