Daily Telefrag has conducted an interview with the members of Akella, the creators of Sea Dogs 2, sequel to lst years popilar Pirate RPG Sea Dogs:
DTF: According to the bits and pieces of information that made it to the net, Sea Dogs 2 was rehashed greatly. Please tell is what aspects of the game underwent most changes?
Akella: We believe that most prominent modification we made is of course the dry land. From now on the land is a full-fledged ingame element. In Sea Dogs, you could use land to socialize with characters, visit shops and shipyards, while Sea Dogs 2 grants adventures, travels, and battles held on the dry land. The game is not entirely focused on the naval battles, for there would be plenty of land and marine-bound skirmishes, practically equal in number. The gameplay blends them seamlessly.
The role-playing system of the game has got some changes done, too. First off, we have got two characters to play (male and female), character specialization and initial skills. Along with that, we have implemented the possibility to enlist a small party of allies, and make them pursue peculiar skills.
Last but not least, Sea Dogs 2 comes with a multiplayer support, along with different modes of play, Internet/LAN games, and so on. Also shall we include powerful editor to create custom maps, ships, etc. |
