Computer and Video Games has conducted an interview with Jeff Grills about Star Wars: Galaxies - An Empire Divided. Here's something on their concept the universe and such:
What areas or planets can we expect to be visiting with the initial release of Galaxies?
Jeff: The first launch we'll have will consist of between eight to twelve planets. But because of continuity, there are some things you're going to be able to do on some planets and some things you can't on others. For example, Tatooine is a pretty desolate world and it's going to stay that way, while we have other planets well-known from the movies where players will be able to build there own towns, set up harvesters to mine resources, stuff like that.
So will each planet be on its own server? How will that work?
Jeff: We've got this concept of a cluster, and the cluster is basically an instance of the galaxy, and we'll have every set of planets per cluster. You'll be able to move between planets in this cluster, but of course you won't be able to move between clusters. |
