Gamespy has done a preview of Deus Ex: The Conspiracy, the PS2 version of the game. Here's a bit:
Well after checking out the PS2 version first hand, we're here to put your concerns to rest. Yeah, there is an obvious framerate issue (it's not as smooth as we would like it to be), but it's still in development and we all know that aspect of the game gets tweaked last, so there is still hope. However for the most part, Ion Storm has done an excellent job to bring the world of Deus Ex to the PS2. The complex menu system (which was both integral to the game and keyboard intensive) has been effectively implemented into the PS2 version of the game. Through the use of the Dual Shock controller players are able to access item menus and skills menus with a single button. Since the game has a plethora of skills and augmentations, players are able to switch between them using the L1 and R1 buttons. Combat is pretty straightforward, but a nice addition to the PS2 version is the ability to auto-aim. Thankfully, for folks who can't handle the controller, Eidos says the game will support a keyboard and mouse.
