Well, still no English publisher for Gothic announced and still no SDK released - reason enough for me to call Torsten from Piranha Bytes and get the latest news! And here's what he said:
SDK Kit
The Gothic SDK is basically done and ready for release, but Piranha Bytes is translating the manuals the programmers wrote into something everybody can understand :)
Estimated release in less than 4 weeks!
Gothic Sequel
First announced as a sequel, now it is unsafe, if it will happen at all!
Whether there'll be a Gothic 2 or a sequel or nothing Gothic related at all is not yet 100% decided. Piranha Bytes is working on prototypes at the moment and will announce their decision in about 4 weeks - the decision will definitely be depending if the English Publisher will release a sequel as well - which brings us to the topic everyone is waiting for:

No info so far - Torsten is grilling the businessmen himself each and every day, but there seems to be nothing to report at the moment!
So the reason we haven't heard a lot from Gothic is there simply was nothing to report. Stay tuned, you'll read it first at RPGDot! |
